Our educators have a passion for cosmetology and for sharing their knowledge and experience through teaching. They can't wait to learn about you. Here's your opportunity to learn a little about them.
Jacque enjoys the fresh perspective on the skills of the cosmetology industry that comes with each new generation of Gene Juarez students. She draws inspiration from helping others realize their potential as she develops the Gene Juarez educator curriculum. Her fondest memories are seeing her former students lead their own classes.
Michelle was inspired to become an educator because she loved cosmetology school at GJA so much. She enjoys witnessing the everyday successes of her student artists throughout their education. Michelle advises to "Respect yourself enough to succeed & remember that it’s only a mistake if you don’t learn from it"
MOUNTLAKE TERRACE CAMPUS
When Sawyer was attending GJA, she was inspired daily by her amazing educators. It was this experience that made her want to be and educator so she could return the favor to future generations of students. Sawyer offers this advice to students "You must inspire yourself daily! This is such a creative and fun industry that inspiration can be found everywhere...you just have to find it!"
Amanda became an educator because of her love for learning. "I have a passion for education." She advises students to perfect their skills before graduating & utilize their educators to help them because in 13 short months they will be VERY glad they did!
Bianca was inspired to become an educator because of her educators who were always looking out for her and knew that she could achieve anything! Bianca's favorite quote is "The only time success comes before work is in the dictionary."
Having a group of inspiring educators that cared about her education made Brandi want to do the same for future GJA students. Brandi coaches her students to "Be accountable for yourself, your actions and your words because they are a reflection of yourself."
In an industry of change, Elena is happy to take her own advice to “never stop learning,” taking full advantage of Gene Juarez’s continuing employee education programs. Whether it’s preparing students for the State Board examination or assisting in clinics, Elena shows her strength for sharing what she knows with others.
I have such a passion for cosmetology that I wanted to share it with other people. I want my students to feel intelligent and important as my instructors made me feel in my training here at Gene Juarez Academy. Gabriela encourages her students to keep their eyes on their goals!
Jennifer loves helping people. She enjoys working individually with students and seeing their expressions when they do a great job — always keeping the energy positive. She reminds students to “stay focused on your goals” and “never let bad energy from others affect you.”
Growing up, both of Katie's parents were teachers so it was natural for her to become and educator at GJA to inspire new learners as they grow & develop in the field of Cosmetology. Katie tells her students that it isn't just about doing hair but rather about the connection they make with their guests. "It's important to bring out your guest's inner beauty through your artistic abilities."
Lindsay loves to see all the light bulb moments! "There is no greater feeling as an educator when you know you have helped a student achieve their goals." Lindsay tells her students to be themselves and most importantly to have fun while in school.
Maria became an educator to help students with their personal and professional growth. Maria teaches technique, fashion, and philosophy. Each of her students are unique and she looks forward to her daily interaction with them. Maria experiences countless rewards teaching & playing a small part in the amazing growth of another to achieve their dreams and to realize their potential for success.
Miso was inspired by her GJA educators, especially Michelle, to become one herself. She finds being an educator the perfect balance between theory & doing hair. Miso tells new students to “always remember why you came to Gene Juarez Academy in the first place. You are striving to become the best. There is always something new to learn & experiences to enjoy while in school.”
Molly sees GJA as a place to grow & learn. She gets fulfillment by being someone students can turn to for support and encouragement. Molly believes that bringing out the best in others brings out the best in her!
Nicole likes to see the passion in her students — their enthusiasm and ideas — for the industry she loves. As a clinic educator, doing consultations with clients she sees firsthand the trials and successes of each student. Her advice to students: “Come to school every day!”
For Shawna, seeing her graduates grow into successful artists is her favorite part of being a Gene Juarez educator. Inspired by her former educators, Shawna enjoys helping students fine-tune their skills and problem-solve challenging situations. After all, “challenges are what make our lives interesting,” she says, “always focus on the positives.”
SOUTH CAMPUS
Adri has always been interested in learning new things & sharing them with people who have the same passion. "I love to see a student grasp a concept that I have taught them." She advises students to be creative, set no limits on what they can achieve, be open to new ideas and have fun!
After spending five years working in the salon industry, Shea was ready to try something new and exciting. Becoming a cosmetology educator for GJA was very appealing to Shea because she loves helping people in an industry she is passionate about. Shea believes the key to a student's success is “staying focused on your goals and learn as much as you possibly can while in school.”
Heather is an educator inspired by educators, providing patience and inspiration to her students. “Don’t be afraid to ask questions. Always get as much information as you can!” Her favorite thing is seeing the great new things students come up with.
Jamie loves seeing other succeed in life and with the patience and desire to guide others, teaching became her passion. "This is a great industry to be in!" notes Jamie. She tells her students that this industry will give you back exactly what you put into it. "So work hard & you will reap the rewards!"
With a passion for learning, Katelynn believes that being an educator not only helps others but is also the best way for her to continue learning and perfecting her skills. Katelynn tells her students to "always strive to do better and they will find every hour is worth the hard work."
Kristel helps her students every part of the way, whether it be formulating a color or checking a haircut. She enjoys seeing the confidence build throughout their school career, and especially their faces after seeing the result of their work. “Enter the industry with confidence and professionalism and there’s no telling how far you can go.”
It was Kristie's experience attending GJA & the influence of her educators that made her want to become an educator herself. "Each of my educators taught me so much about this industry as well as myself. Their passion for Cosmetology was inspiring." Kristie believes in always keeping your eyes on the prize. "Take every opportunity to push yourself to the next level but always remember to have fun!"
Kenzie loved the environment so much at GJA, she wanted to stay a part of it as an educator. She enjoys helping others & watching her students grow as she reminds them to "stay motivated & don't give up on their dreams if they want to be successful."
Magen is motivated by the beautiful, confident, supportive instructors she had as student. She enjoys knowing she has an impact not just on students’ work, but on their lives. “You’ve picked a wonderful, deserving career. Keep striving for better and never give up.”
Mary’s advice to her students — which often seems like the most difficult thing to do—is be humble about their experiences. Although, she admits her proudest moments are watching her students graduate. It’s a rewarding payoff for doing what she loves — helping them find their passion.
Quinn has always had the desire to help people in any way possible & believes there is no better way to help than teach! When students face obstacles in school, Quinn reminds them to never forget why they enrolled at GJA & that there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
Sabrina has always loved teaching and contemplated being a kindergarten teacher before exploring the possibilities in Cosmetology. "I chose GJA for its amazing reputation and upon graduation realized that I wasn't ready to leave! I love Cosmetology and I love this school!" Sabrina is a great mentor to her students and shares her philosophy to stay positive, stay focused, stay passionate and above all else have a blast.
Shirley has a natural penchant for helping students understand information. Her students absorb a culture of beauty and Shirley’s careful instruction helps them master relaxers, job preparation, and salon tours.
Stefanie found a love for cosmetology while attending GJA. She has always loved helping people learn & succeed so becoming an educator gives her the best of both worlds. Stefanie offers this advice to her students “stay motivated and focused on your goals which will drive you to succeed.”
The encouragement & motivation Drew received from her educators while attending GJA inspired her to become an educator. She really encourages her students to be sponges & soak everything in while attending school. "The skills you learn will get you a Cosmetology license but the Gene Juarez beliefs & philosophies will help you grow as a person."
When Tiffanie was a student, she would watch how her GJA educators would make such a huge impact on the lives of her fellow students. This inspired her to become an educator so she too could help & inspire students. Tiffanie shares this advice with the students she teaches - "Stay true to who you are and keep up your passion & motivation. Remember that you are a "day maker" with every guest you see."
